 Lyne Nationals pre-select Dr David Gillespie LEADER of The Nationals Warren Truss has today welcomed the pre-selection of Dr David Gillespie, who will take up the fight for the people of the NSW Mid North Coast at the next federal election as The Nationals’ candidate for the seat of Lyne. “Dr Gillespie is an excellent local champion who is passionate about his community, well beyond his specialist area of health,” Mr Truss said. “He has not only been a top local surgeon for the last 20 years, but was Director of Physician Training at Port Macquarie Base Hospital for 10 years training young doctors in the region. “David has spent the last couple of years in virtual campaign mode listening to the concerns of locals, particularly small business, which from today will be hammered with the Gillard/Oakeshott carbon tax.” Mr Truss confirmed Lyne is a high priority for The Nationals. “Many voters in Lyne feel cheated and ignored,” he said. “We intend to fix that. “I am looking forward to working hard with David Gillespie because Lyne cannot afford three more years of Labor/Oakeshott chaos. “David Gillespie will be a strong positive choice for the people of Lyne and an effective advocate on their behalf in a new Coalition government.” [ENDS] |
